ICHC Map Curators Meeting in Paris, June 29, 2024

The map curators will gather in Paris at the Bibliothèque nationale de France (site Richelieu) for a day long meeting leading up to the International Conference on the History of Cartography, with the support of the Comité français de cartographie.

About the tours
Everyone will participate in the tour of the BnF as it can be broken up into two groups.

For the tours of the Archives Nationales and the Service Historique de la Défense, you will need to choose one, there is not the possibility to do both tours.

The tour of the Archives Nationales at the Pierrefite-sur-Seine site will highlight the facilities dedicated to the conservation of maps.

The tour of the Service historique de la Défense will highlight the military cartographic archives

Trains run regularly between Paris and Lyon. The train ride between the cities is approximately 2 hours, with an additional 30 minutes or so to arrive at the BnF in Paris.
